BEDFORD ALTERNATIVE MUSICs TOP TEN LOCAL-BAND C.D.s.Here it is Bedford Alternative Music's Annual Top Ten local band C.D's from the Bedfordshire and surrounding areas, for full reviews see the 'C.D. Demo Review' section, if your band had a stunningly good C.D. out over 2008 and doesn't appear here, you should have submitted one in for review May be 2009? Well done to all the bands that have made it to the chart. Here then is the Bedford Alternative Music Top Ten.
10) MINIMAL DAMAGE - Erase The Default.
Good enough musically and tune wise, let down with the packaging, but certainly one of the best ska bands around that Bedford has to offer and well deserve to have reached the top ten .9) SPEEDSHOT - C.D.
Fun romps for tunes Jangling melodies just right for a small pub playing band with big stage players.8) ROBBY KILLER - Killer Instinct.
Well put together showcase of individual local talent, a self indulged demonstration of classic rock skills.7) RENCH - C.D.
One of the most Fun to listen to C.D.s of the year, they keep to their style without becoming stale, remaining refreshing and uplifting. Even the packaging makes you smile.6) ATTIKA - The Last Whisper.
Not just a C.D. this can also be regarded as a souvenir keepsake retrospective of the whole band which ran from 2004 2008.5) THE RADIATING EYES - Parasite City.
The best cover award goes to this disk twelve (plus a secret track) blistering punk tunes from a young upcoming band that if not played to often at the same places will have potential to go places and do well.4) DON BROCO - Thug Workout.
The whole thing is just so good to listen to, with the overall and shared vocal skills instantly standing out.3) THE ESCAPE - Demo C.D.
Very good and talented musicians. You would think they had been along much longer than they actually have, memorable tunes and prominent bass work leads an appreciable indie rock well honed sound.2) EX-NIHILO - Worlds Will Fall.
Seen these enough times live so thought I knew what to expect (Ex-Nihilo but on a C.D.) but this was even better than I thought it would be and captures all their playing skills with some mighty fine songs both powerful and melodic.No.1) SLAVE TO NATURE - The Silence.
Reaching the number one spot Slave To Nature with a part two instalment from their previous C.D. A band needing that outright epic in their repertoire which is included here reaching critical acclaim judging by their my space comments response. Classic chanting anthems, full instrumental skills from the sheer brutal attack to the intelligently, reflective poignancy of varied brilliance reaching the highest points from our judging panel.
