McKenzie
Ryu style, whilst being predominantly Ju-Jitsu is a culmination
of over thirty years of training and research by Shihan Frank
McKenzie in the arts of Ju-Jitsu, Kick Boxing, Fillipino Stick
Fighting and Keysi Fighting Method.
McKenzie
Ryu has become a leader in developing effective, economic
techniques and has no sporting applications.
Our
club is friendly and welcomes all who are willing to learn.

Frank McKenzie:
Training
approaches vary across different styles of martial arts. Certainly
in my earlier days of training I trained hard and aggressively.
Power, strength and speed were my tools. I find that with
time and experience my approach to those same techniques has
changed. Now I perform and teach them in a different way -
maximising economy of movement and effectiveness whilst minimising
the amount of energy used.
I
am often asked "How Long Will It Take To..."
There
are no quick solutions. If you want to realize your potential
martial arts must be more than merely physical exercise -
training the mind and body to be as one. Without which a Martial
Artist cannot be complete.
The
single and most important rule is to maintain a regular training
regime. Think of it as being "Fit For Life". Don't be in a
great hurry to achieve - it will come with time, patience
and respect for what you do.
