History from the 1882 to 1988

The club was formed in 1882 and won the Amateur Cup in 1906.

It joined the Isthmain League in 1907 and, until 1950, remained the premier club in Oxfordshire.

City have won the Oxfordshire Senior Cup 31 times, the Benelovent Cup 19 times and the Oxfordshire Charity Cup 9 times.

The reserve side has won the Intermediate Cup 3 times, first in 1951 when the competition started and again in 1994 and 1997.

In 1972 the club became a limited company and the following year Bobby Moore was appointed manager with Harry Redknapp as his assistant - unfortunately, they were relegated for the first time in their history.

City remained in Division One until being forced to resign in 1988 when Brasenose College terminated the lease on the White House Ground.
