Book Title: .Net Enterprise Development in VB.Net : From design to deployment
Authors: Matthew Reynolds, Karli Watson with Bill Forgey and Brain Patterson
Publication: Wrox
Review:

I found this book very practical. The authors explain Enterprise development taking different aspects of .Net by creating a rich custom library called Wrox Enterprise Objects[WEO]. This book explains many of the .Net features in a very abstract way using this library that a user can understand it well. Some of the topics like services, CAS and performance monitoring are explained well.
The enterprise library that is explained in detail is good. In simple enterprise applications we can use it. For large applications, it may not be suitable. Database retrieving part of it is not so good. One can extract the best in the enterprise application framework explained in the book, into ones own project, but not the complete framework. Overall it is not for a beginner.
