Beginner's Speedwork

 

Striders have started running a "Beginners Speedwork" session on Tuesday nights.
This session runs in parallel to the main speed session from the clubhouse but offers alternatives for those new to speedwork or returning to it after a long break.

The aim is to offer a "gentle" introduction to speed work, doing fewer reps than the main session, in a slower paced group. Whenever practical, there will also be shorter reps for those who are training for shorter distances or who are brand new to the discipline. We'll also aim to give you a brief guide to what speedwork can do for your running and the aims of each session.

So if you've never tried speedwork before, or have been worried that you'll be left behind if you do, this could be the session for you! Please come along on Tuesday nights and give it a go. We promise to be gentle.

Sessions start at 7:25 from the clubhouse, to allow for a warm up before starting the main session.
