The Artist about
her Work and Herself:
…I work only in
color. I just don't think otherwise…
…I remain sincere to the ideas of my sole Teacher, Aanatoly Ivanovich
Shugrin:
"The artist's individuality is of an utmost importance…"
"The area of a color is important. You can paint a surface like one
paints a roof, still the main question is - how large is this spot of
color…"
"Pauses, intervals within the objects are of an equal importance with
the objects themselves…"
…Marketplace and Fair themes captured my imagination… expressive poses,
movements of the people, the crowd, permanently changing and saturated
with color - I wanted so much to "pause" everything for a moment and
to commemorate all of it on paper, with no detail lost…
…I accomplish most of my work in journeys. Fluent sketches while walking
in a marketplace, inside a cottage or a bus in further development are
combined in complex composition works…
